HIGH SCHOOL STUDY HALL

GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES

GUIDELINES

RULES AND EXPECTATIONS:

  • Report to the study hall promptly or to the teacher's classroom with all needed materials.

  • No food or drinks are allowed.

  • Cell phones are not allowed.

  • This will be a quiet study hall.

  • Students without Commons Privileges must remain in the library.

PROCEDURES

  1. Students must report at the beginning of study hall to be counted for attendance.

  2. One student may be out of study hall on a restroom, drink, locker, or office pass at a time. Passes are issued for a reasonable amount of time and abuse or misuse will result in loss of pass privileges for one week.

  3. If a student has a pre-signed pass from another teacher requesting them, they may be permitted to go. Students will not be allowed to go to another teacher’s classroom unless they have a pre-signed pass from him or her.

  4. All students without Commons Privileges must return to study hall before the end-of-period bell rings unless they have a 2nd-half-of-the-period vocal lesson. *Students with Commons Privileges may dismiss from the commons.

  5. Students will remain quiet for the entire study hall period. Quiet does not = silent, but students must respect others who need to focus on their work.

  6. Work until the bell rings. This means you will bring all necessary supplies to occupy yourself the entire class period. If you have no assignments to work on, bring reading material or review other class material.
